Aerobatic Rating

Aerobatic Rating

Turn your world upside down with an aerobatic rating!

The reasons why pilots might want to choose to learn aerobatics vary – some for the thrill and exhilaration, others to increase their fly skills. No matter your motivation, if will provide you the confidence to know they can deal promptly with any undesired aircraft state – if not avoid it.

Aerobatic flying training is tailored to your flying experience, learning speed and goals.

Initial training is typically conducted in our T6/24 and CT4E Air trainers… however we have a number of aircraft options available for subsequent flight training:

  • YAK52 (Aerobatic version of the common C152)
  • EXTRA 300 and EXTRA 300L
Course Overview

The course is typically completed over 9 flights of approximately 40 minutes each. Theory components are covered along the way through classroom briefings.

Your initial rating can include the following authorisations:
  • Wing-over
  • Loop
  • Barrel Roll
  • Aileron Roll
  • Stall Turn / Hammerhead
  • Roll off the Top
  • Spins
  • Cuban 8

Additional training can be undertaken to be authorised to fly aerobatics in additional aircraft types, as well as more advanced manoeuvres.
